It’s also the latest PlayStation exclusive game to make its way to the PC platform. And the latest one to be fully playable on Valve’s popular handheld. The first two being Horizon Zero Dawn and God Of War.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered lands on Steam Deck on August 12
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered will launch on PC on August 12, meaning Steam Deck owners will have access to it the same day. Naturally, since Steam is one of the game clients it’ll be landing on. The PC version of the game comes with a host of new features to help players take advantage of all the game has to offer. Including ray-traced reflections and improved shadows, support for ultra-wide monitors, and PC-optimized graphics. The Steam Deck won’t be able to take advantage of features like Ray Tracing. And it won’t be as powerful as playing the game on a desktop or laptop powered by NVIDIA and AMD’s most powerful GPUs. But the handheld should still be able to play the game fairly well. On top of that, it likely won’t be long before Steam Deck owners begin to share their preferred settings for the best combination of optimal graphics and frame rate. In short, if you own a Steam Deck and plan to buy this game, you should be in for a good time. Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered only includes the original base game and not the Miles Morales follow-up. But if the Remastered version is popular enough, it seems like there’s a good chance Miles Morales will end up on PC as well. All that being said, a game of this magnitude is sure to be a Steam Deck battery killer. So make sure to keep your charger handy if you plan to play for a significant amount of time.
