This guide is here to help you forget all those questions, or at the very least make it a little easier in trying to pick something out. Whether it’s a gift for yourself or someone else. In this gift guide, we’ve rounded up a collection of some of the best gaming accessories you can find. Some will be affordable, others might be a bit pricey but in the end they’ll also be worth it. This gaming accessories guide is in addition to other guides for similar sets of products, like our Best M.2 NVMe SSDs For PS5, as well as our guide for Best Gaming Headsets. Just to name a couple.
Holiday Gift Guide 2022: Best PC, Console, & Mobile Gaming Accessories
Samsung 990 Pro
This is Samsung’s latest NVMe SSD and is a follow-up to last year’s stellar 980 Pro. We’ve used both the 980 Pro with a heatsink (currently in our PS5), and the 990 Pro which we just started testing in our PC. And both are great drives. But the 990 Pro amps things up with even faster read and write speeds, better cooling, and even jazzes up the heatsink model with some fancy new RGB lighting. It’s definitely our top pick for gaming NVMe SSDs right now. And the best part is Samsung designed it with gaming in mind first. Plus it works with both the PS5 and PC. The Samsung 990 Pro with and without the heatsink will go up for pre-order on November 1 and will officially ship not too long after.
SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless
SteelSeries has always made some great products and headsets have always been one of its best offerings. It also now makes our absolute favorite wireless gaming headset, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. We chose this for our gaming accessories gift guide because this is quite simply the best gaming headset on the market right now. There are more than a few great options. But out of everything we’ve tested both this year and last year, the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless outshines them all. If you’d like to read our full review on why we love it, you can find that here. But some of the key points are that it’s extremely comfortable, it’s new design not only looks better but is also more functional, and it features some of the best sound of any gaming headset we’ve used. It also keeps the feature of hot swappable batteries made popular with the original Arctis Pro. If you need an audio gift for the gamer in your life this year, present them with this. They won’t be disappointed.
SCUF Reflex
Price: From $199Where To Buy: SCUF Gaming
The SCUF Reflex has been our go-to controller for PS5 and PC the past couple of months when playing any sort of shooter (like Modern Warfare II), or anything where you might benefit from the back paddles and optional instant triggers. What we love the most is the instant triggers and performance grip. The grip helps prevent slippage during longer sessions. And the instant triggers give your trigger pulls a mouse click feel so you can aim and shoot faster. We found this to be crucial to our success in the Modern Warfare II beta last month. And we expect to continue playing with this controller when the game launches fully on October 28. This is definitely one of the best gaming accessories right now which is why we felt it belonged on this year’s gift guide.
SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Wireless
We’ve been testing the Apex Pro TKL Wireless from SteelSeries for a couple of weeks now and we love it. So much that it earned a spot on this year’s holiday gift guide for the best gaming accessories. What we’ve found to be one of the best parts about it is it doesn’t seem to interfere as much or at all with our other wireless gaming peripherals. This could be due to us using the dongle extender that came in the box. Then again perhaps not. Either way, we can use it with the 2.4GHz connection and it doesn’t get interference from the Arena 9 speakers, Naga Pro mouse, or Arctis Nova Pro Wireless headset that are all connected wirelessly in some form. It also comes with a nice magnetic wrist wrest with a soft touch feel so your skin isn’t scraping against the edge of the mouse pad or desk. Best of all though are the omnipoint mechanical adjustable switches. These let you set different actuation points for multiple key binds per key. And that can give you a big advantage in games. This keyboard also comes in a less expensive wired version if you want everything it offers save for the wireless connection.
Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL
We’re convinced the Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL is the new king of ultra-low profile gaming keyboards. Even more so than our previous favorite, the Logitech G915 TKL. It’s sleek design and metal chassis really help your gaming setup stand out. But it’s not all about looks with a gaming keyboard. More importantly you want the keyboard to be functional and the Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL certainly is functional. While we used the full-size version, there’s nothing different about it from this model except that it has the number pad. And since we’re partial to the TKL versions of gaming keyboard for their space-saving designs, we’re adding the Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL to this list instead of the full-size model. All that said, what you get is an ultra fast wireless keyboard with Razer’s HyperSpeed wireless technology, a battery life of up to 50 hours, Bluetooth compatibility with a quick toggle between three different devices, and a lot more.
Razer Naga Pro
The Razer Naga Pro is one of the best gaming mice you’ll find anywhere. And the biggest reason is because it’s such a versatile mouse. This is because it’s modular and comes with three different button plates that can be switched out. One has all 12 side buttons which is perfect for MMO games. However there are 20 programmable buttons in total when you use this plate. There’s also one with 6 side buttons that is most suitable for MOBA games like League of Legends. And then there’s a plate with two side buttons for FPS games and battle royale titles. Like Call Of Duty and Apex Legends. Razer also designed this as a wireless mouse, though you can use it wired too. Naturally it features Razer’s popular Chroma RGB profiles. It also has very long-lasting battery life and offers low-latency connection.
SteelSeries Arena 9 Speakers
Ok, yes these are expensive but considering the audio experience offered, they’re well worth it. We’ve been testing both the Arena 7 and the Arena 9, both of which come with a subwoofer for extra deep bass for that additional punchy boom in your games. But out of the two the Arena 9 is on a whole other level and is worth the extra money. This is all thanks to the center channel speaker and the two wireless rear-channel speakers that are part of the setup. Providing you with a surround sound experience that keeps you fully immersed in your games. The Arena 9 also comes with the control pod. A little dial with an LCD screen that lets you adjust all of your speaker’s audio settings from one location. Without having to dig into the SteelSeries GG software app. The speakers also come with RGB lighting on the back and are compatible with an app within the SteelSeries GG software called SteelSeries Reflect. Which lets the speaker RGB mimic the colors on your screen for a more immersive look. At $550 the Arena 9 are definitely one of the pricier items you could buy for a gift. But trust us. If you want an exceptional gaming audio experience, these are hard to beat. We’ve been using them for weeks now and all our games feel more alive.
PlayStation DualSense Controller
The DualSense controller is a modern marvel in controllers. While the PlayStation controllers aren’t everybody’s favorite, it’s hard to argue that the DualSense isn’t amazing. Thanks to the advanced haptics and adaptive triggers. If you own a PS5, you already have at least one controller. But Sony also now sells it in other colors. A black, red, purple, pink, and blue. And if you get one from PlayStation Direct, you can snag the God of War Ragnarok LE or the new Gray Camo versions. Plus, even if you stick with the white controller, it never hurts to have extras for when the main one needs the battery recharged.
Sony DualSense Charging Stand
And keeping with the PS5 theme, if you have more than one DualSense controller you definitely want the official Sony charging stand. This way you can keep up to two controllers topped up with battery power while you any others. Then you will always have a controller ready to go, and without having to plug it in with a USB-C cable. That is unless you play multiplayer games locally with two or three other people and drain the batteries down on all of them. Still, this is one of the best gaming accessories in this gift guide and for the PS5 in general.
Razer Universal Quick Charging Stand for Xbox
Sony isn’t the only company that makes charging stands for its controllers. Microsoft does too. And as a matter of fact, Razer now makes a Universal Quick Charging Stand for Xbox. This will work with all generations of Xbox wireless controllers. So even if you have some from the Xbox One era without the newly added share button, this will still work. Having said that, these are great for the new wireless controllers that come with the Xbox Series X|S too. Because they match some of the colors those controllers are offered in.
Herman Miller Vantum
Price: $796Where To Buy: Herman Miller
Gaming chairs have come a long way over the last five years. And now we’ve arrived at a gaming chair from one of the top global brands for office chairs – Herman Miller with the Vantum. While this isn’t Herman Miller’s first gaming chair, it is the company’s first chair designed specifically for gaming. Whereas the other gaming chairs the company offers are simply already available office chairs rebranded for gaming. We know this isn’t a gaming accessory in the traditional sense, but we’ve added it to the list because a chair is perhaps the most important part of your gaming setup. Especially if you play games for long periods of time. The Vantum taps into your best gaming performance by keeping you comfortable without compromising your back, neck, and joint health. With everything from an active, forward-leaning alignment to adjustable lumbar support and head rest, the Vantum was designed to ensure you have ergonomic support and perform at your best while you play. We love that it comes in a few different colorways and allows for all kinds of adjustment including the seat depth, back tilt, tension and more.
SteelSeries QcK Mouse Pad
The main reasons why we chose this mouse pad over any other for the holiday gift guide, and as one of the best gaming accessories, is because it comes in numerous sizes and it’s affordable. But beyond that it’s also a fantastic mouse pad for the price point. And just great overall. It’s also easy to clean as SteelSeries designed it to have a washable cloth top, and the mouse can glide across it easily and still ensure you get precise movements in your games without snags or sticking. What’s more is that it has a non-slip base so it doesn’t move around. And whether you prefer the $9.99 small size or the massive 5XL version at $99.99, this mouse pad will perform.
Seagate Firecuda 530 NVMe SSD W/ Heatsink (Compatible with PS5)
You could certainly use this SSD for a PC, and it would be an excellent choice. But, the reason we have it listed here is because it’s compatible with the PS5. And it comes in multiple storage size options including up to 4TB. With super fast read and write speeds, this is potentially your best option for PS5 expandable storage. Or at the very least one of the top options to consider.
SCUF Instinct Pro
When it comes to customization, the new Instinct Pro from SCUF Gaming is one heck of a controller for the Xbox Series X|S and PC, and also one of the best. It features remappable back paddles and locking instant triggers that are perfect for shooter games.
Xbox Wireless headset For Xbox Series X|S
Rounding out this list is Microsoft’s Xbox Wireless headset for the Xbox Series X|S. It’s available at a really affordable price point of $99, which means it’s an easy pickup for gifts this holiday. And it offers pretty good audio with a whole host of useful features. It might not be quite on par with Bang & Olufsen’s high-end Beoplay Portal, but then again that’s also $400 more.
WD_Black P40 Game Drive SSD
While there are a couple of M.2 NVMe SSD options on here, we wanted to add something that was both portable and suitable for gaming. Enter the P40 Game Drive SSD from WD_Black. It works with both Windows and Mac desktops and laptops, as well as Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4. With its shock resistant formfactor in addition to the slim and compact size, it’s a great go-anywhere drive for storing all of your games. And a perfect accessory for laptop gamers. Plus the RGB lighting is a cool touch of visual flair.
