Google Camera port from the Pixel 6 & 6 Pro is now available, but it’s in beta
Do note that you’ll need an Android phone running Android 9, 10, 11, or 12 in order to make this work. Another thing to note is that this camera port comes from the Android 12 Beta 4 build, so it’s not taken from the stable version of the software. Also, keep in mind it won’t work as well as you may think, as it’s lacking Pixel 6’s hardware. Considering this camera version is not made for devices that are not the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, it may not work on your phone at all, actually. In other instances it may work, but some of its features may not. All in all, it’s not entirely stable, so take that into consideration. This camera app brings features such as Magic Eraser, Face Deblur, and several others. These two features are the most interesting ones, though. If you want to grab this camera app, and see how it works on your device, the link is included below the article.
Make sure your device meets these requirements before you proceed
All you need to do is make sure that your Android runs Android 9, 10, 11, or 12, and that it supports Camera2 API. Without that, it won’t work at all. This camera app can only be installed on smartphones with Google Play Services pre-installed, so it won’t work on Huawei smartphones without Google services, for example. Make sure to enable “unknown source installation” on your phone, as you’ll be sideloading this application, and not installing it via an official store, such as the Play Store. That also means you install it at your own risk. When you’re ready, tap the link provided below the article, and install the application. Let’s hope MGC will manage to create a version of this app that comes from the stable build of Android 12 soon. The download link for the camera port is below, make sure you select the “BSG: MGC_8.3.252_V0e” version. Download Google Camera 8.3 port
