That’s only a few weeks away, so it won’t be long before all the details are out there. The event will begin at 8am ET, which means it will be starting at 5am PT – a pretty early event for those on the West coast. Given the event is being held by ASUS though, and the event is being livestreamed from Taipei, the timing makes sense. As it’ll be happening at 8pm there.
The ASUS ROG Phone 6D Ultimate comes powered by MediaTek
When it comes to the ROG series devices, they’ve always been built with high-end components. This included Qualcomm’s latest and greatest mobile platform. Which in the case of the ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro, is the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The downside to that, is the phones are expensive. That may change with this new model because it’ll be using a less expensive chip. The MediaTek Dimensity 9000+. Chances are that ASUS will other less expensive components as well. Which could lead to an overall lower price of the 6D Ultimate model. None of this has been confirmed yet. But it seems likely that the 6D Ultimate is going to be the entry-level version of the ROG Phone 6. And from a business standpoint, it kind of makes sense for ASUS to do this. While ASUS’s ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro are priced too high for some consumers, the 6D Ultimate may allow ASUS to tackle a part of the market that wants or needs to spend less on gaming phones. A space that other brands currently reap all the rewards from. With a lower price, all ASUS would have to do is make it available in more regions.
