He discovered that Eufy has been uploading photos and videos of its customers to its cloud despite stating the exact opposite. Eufy stated that it never uploads any footage or photos of its customers to the internet. Nowhere in any documentation, written or digital, did it say that it uploads anything from the users....

This is exciting news for users of Eve’s smart home gadgets, as it means their devices will now work with other Matter-compatible devices. Thus, providing a more seamless and integrated smart home experience, as devices from different manufacturers will be able to communicate with each other. As The Verge reported, the update for Eve’s smart home devices to be compatible with Matter is currently optional; however, once updated, users cannot migrate them back to running only on Apple HomeKit....

For those unaware, Whittaker worked as an AI researcher at Google for 13 years until leaving her post in 2019. She left Google citing differences with the company’s AI ethics work.
